Japanese Illustrator and Art Director Daigo Ikeno at Capcom has been working in the industry for over 25 years and has produced several artworks since he stepped foot in the design world in 1994.
In an exclusive interview with Arab News Japan, Ikeno shared his inspiration for video games that lead him to a major career in the video game industry.
“As I grew up, I had the chance to experience lots of different games on each new generation of consoles as they were released: the NES in elementary school, the Mega Drive and PC Engine in junior high school, the Super NES in high school and then the PlayStation in college.
It feels like games have grown up along with me,” he said.
“I was also into manga and anime ever since I was little. From about the second grade of elementary school I was learning to draw by copying characters from manga – I remember that the first thing I drew was a character from Akira Toriyama’s Dr.
